Don't use it!

The Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP) has been asked by the descendants of Lajos Kossuth not to use the "Kossuth Shield" in association with their political activities. Recently, the party adopted the shield for advertising the party. This is no coincidence as the 56th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 was just celebrated. This has upset the descendants of Kossuth who said that the only time the use of the shield was acceptable was during the Hungarian Revolution of 1956.

It should be known that the Hungarian communists in 1919 used the shield during their revolution as well. The shield was created by Kossuth during the Hungarian Revolution of 1848. The MSZP are the heirs of the old communist party in Hungary. In 1956, one could be killed for displaying the shield. It is a little ironic that the party that once banned it, now wants to use it.
