Poland vs. Russia

*Breaking News* Russian and Polish supporters clashed before their game this evening in the Euro 2012 competition. It was estimated that up to 20,000 Russian supporters were going to march through Warsaw to celebrate Russia Day before the match. Russia Day is a national holiday in Russia that has been celebrated every year since 1992. Polish riot police broke up the march as Russian and Polish supporters clashed along the march route. There have been recent  and long-standing political tensions between Poland and Russia. There is an uneasy relationship between the two countries due to the communist past and the Katyn massacre of Poles by the Russians during World War Two. Today's violence highlights that "old wounds" have not healed.
