It is absolutely no surprise that former Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany's university thesis disappeared without a trace. This is in light of the former President Pál Schmitt affair. Pál Schmitt had to resign his position due to the fact that the Semmelweis University rescinded his doctoral degree due to plagiarism. The campaign against Schmitt was initiated by the Hungarian left-wing. Because of this, some people have taken it upon themselves to investigate certain left-wing politicians by looking into their academic records. Apparently, Ferenc Gyurcsany's thesis has mysteriously gone missing after an investigation by Pécs University of Science Faculty staff. It is now believed that the thesis will never be found. This is no surprise at all...
Editor's Note: It is a known fact that former communist party members like Gyurcsany, received many academic privileges while attending university during the communist era. They often received excellent marks for poor work or received diplomas/degrees for little or no attendance at all.
